On-hire procedure

Ease of lifting

When you make a booking, you will be supplied with a release reference. The reference will include:

• unit number(s) for the container(s) booked
• contact details for the depot
• validity period of reference

You will also receive a copy of the latest test certificate for the tank. If you require a copy of the cleaning certificate then GE SeaCo can provide this as well.

The container will have been repaired to GE SeaCo’s “Quality Assured” criteria. These repairs will have been inspected for quality to ensure that the tank is fit for service.

Although the tank is in good condition you may choose to carry out a survey of the equipment. A condition report with photographs is a useful record of the condition of the container.

If you have arranged with a survey company to inspect the container on your behalf, then the depot will make the container ready for them to inspect.

Should you prefer, for a fee, GE SeaCo can provide you with an on-hire survey completed by an independent survey company.

Once the container has been inspected, it can be collected at any time during depot opening hours within the validity of the release reference. Typically references are valid for 1 month from the date of issue.

If at any time you have any queries, please contact your local Customer Service Centre.
